SEO is dead

People worldwide will keep coming up with why SEO is dead and argue a reason why it should be - it normally happens every year and has done for as long as we as a company can remember. Some people going as far as to invest time and money holding seminars to mourn SEO's final curtains and people giving talks on how to now go about online marketing - i3SearchWorx says: "Nonsense!" - let us explain.

I think what a lot of people don't realise is that SEO looks at a number of different elements - ok, so let's say for example that Google decide that their algorithm is going to completely change - does this really matter? Google's results must be displayed through computed balls of mathematical equations and any change as to how web pages rank are normally picked up by who? That's right, Search Engine Marketing consultants.

People thought the death of SEO was the introduction of Google Instant - months on and there's really no change. Results still must appear and must be in some sort of order, SEO helps settle that order.

Let's look at something completely different. You throw out link building, no longer needed, you through out any off-page factors - they are null and void. Even on-site, forget the use of keywords, for meta tagging, image optimisation, XML sitemaps and Robot.txt files - SEO's are still VITAL. Let's go back to the first line we use in this article - SEO looks at a number of different elements. After our years of looking eagle-eyed over sites, we like to think that we are experts in usability, ensuring smooth navigation on the site, identifying how the internal linking structure should work to benefit the USER, not the search engines - how important is SEO?

Our customers are frequently asking us how they can improve their bounce rates, improve the quality of visitors to increase conversion rates - there's no real science to this - it's the fact that what is required is to ensure the right customers reach the right pages.

In our opinion, SEO will never be dead - Never. The reason is simple, as long as there is search engine marketing, a competitive search market and a way of working out search results, SEO's will continue to evolve with how technology works and how search engines work.

So sit back, relax - SEO is definitely not dead - it's here to stay.
