Forget Eminem, forget Jay-Z, there is a new genre in town and it's here to clean up. Nerdcore is the new rhyming genre for techno geeks and nerds and it's becoming massively popular! MC Frontalot - one of the founders of the genre says:

"Nerdcore is like every other sort of hip hop, just considerably less cool"

When asking MC Frontalot what sort of subjects are generally rapped about, his answer was (with a stuttered geeky laugh beforehand)

"Topics include video games, science fiction, dungeons and dragons, but the deeper themes also look at feelings of alienation, paranoia and inadequacy that must always be battled in order to leave your apartment."

Is it that strange that this is happening? Think of Geek chic - I can think - OFF HAND - 30 of my friends personally that would fit into this catergory, so why can't there be a genre of music?

I asked MC Frontalot for a text-book definition of a Geek - to which he replied:

"A nerd is someone who was conditioned as they were growing up to think that he or she didn't have the ability to fit in socially.

"Most of the time that's because we were smart."
