Topping our chart of fantastic free SEO tools is Link Diagnosis. Link Diagnosis allows you to not only examine your own link profile, but to examine your competitors link profiles - a fantastic way of sourcing relevant links for your own website - a simply invaluable SEO tool. What's more is that you can even see the variables of each link pointing to a competitor, such as PageRank and Link Strength - allowing you to quickly establish which links are most influential to target. 2) SEO Quake

Quite possibly the most handy Firefox extension there is. SEO Quake is a toolbar which instantly loads every single useful metric when a webpage loads. You name it - from PageRank, how many pages of content are in Google's index, age of domain, how many inbound links and numerous other variables - you've simply got to have this.

3) SEOmoz Linkscape

Rand Fishkin seems to always have some excellent tricks up his sleeve when it comes to SEO tools and to be fair, Linkscape is our absolute favourite. Anyone know knows about i3Search.Worx's Search Engine Optimisation strategies, will know that we LOVE good quality links. Linkscape allows you to assess numerous variables of a link pointing to your site or a competitor - a terrific analysis tool and a must have for anyone looking to increase their SEO impact. It's worth upgrading to PRO status as well (chargeable) because the suite of other tools they have in there are truly unbelieveable.

4) Majestic SEO

Another great tool for analysing backlinks. The actual index isn't updated as regularly as I'd like, but the data that you do get is pretty damn good. This tool is more about analysing your own link profile (you need to pay a nominal fee to analyse competitors) but the data you can get in and around your own links will definitely give you an insight to how effective some of the links you have already built truly are. This can save you a LOT of time. Great tool.

5) SEOCentro

SEO Centro has a whole host of free tools which are great for SEO analysis purposes. From meta tag analysis, to content saturation and from keyword density to free ranking checks, this tool helps in all aspects of analysing your sites current SEO performance and has some nice PageRank tools in there for good measure. A must have for any SEO enthusiast.
